Synvolux’ delivery technology (SAINT™) is based on a set of proprietary, entirely synthetic lipid structures which have demonstrated to be extremely safe and broadly applicable.

SAINT performance
SAINT has been shown to be very effective in transporting DNA, RNA (siRNA and RNAi) and proteins to the target destination, both in vitro and in vivo. In head-to-head comparisons, SAINT has demonstrated to outperform any other delivery modality tested, both in terms of efficiency as in terms of material requirement. The SAINT delivery technology is non-toxic, and the delivered payload is biologically active and functional.

In experiments it was demonstrated that SAINT is an impressive enhancer for siRNA delivery in in vivo applications. Summarizing the SAINT advantages:

Synvolux’ success with SAINT has also been validated by a rapidly growing sales: SAINT is being marketed for investigational purposes to research laboratories worldwide and has created a loyal and growing customer base. Also, some aspects of the SAINT technology have been licensed to a dominant player in the research reagent market, Qiagen.

Facilities
Synvolux Therapeutics has its premises in Groningen, The Netherlands. The facilities include offices, laboratory space (molecular biology, organic chemistry, vector production), clean rooms and (GMP) manufacturing rooms with adequate equipment, and storage facilities. These facilities allow us to manufacture SAINT compounds, if needed linked to targeting devices such as antibodies, peptides, or fluorescent dyes. Our compounds are manufactured for R&D use only and for clinical phase I and II studies.

Assets
Clean Room. To support the therapeutic research programs of Synvolux and its partners, the company has established a GMP clean room where all required materials can be produced under the most stringent conditions. All infrastructure and staff for manufacturing and product development are in place.

Intellectual property. The company’s patent portfolio covers more than 2 million chemical structures. Specific SAINT molecules (for an example see figure below). can be tailored to meet specific needs subject to the payload (peptide or protein, DNA or RNA etc.).

Safety data. Toxicity assays (in vitro and in vivo) have proven SAINT to be generally safe.

Efficacy data. In vivo efficacy has been proven in rodents with several macromolecules. Specific data are available upon request.
