The Berlin based biotechnology company MOLOGEN AG ( www.mologen.com ) has received funding for the pre-clinical development of a MIDGE®-based vaccine against hepatitis B. The project has already commenced and is being carried out jointly with Synvolux Therapeutics B. V., a company based in the Netherlands.

Today Synvolux Therapeutics received letters from SenterNovem that the grant applications in the Euro-Trans-BIO are recommended for funding. Grants entitled “Novel protein markers for tumor diagnosis and therapy" and "MIDGE-based Hepatitis B Vaccine formulated with SAINT transfection reagent and administered by ZENEO device" have been favourable evaluated.

by TI PHARMA ( www.tipharma.com ) that their grant application entitled
“A versatile lipid based drug delivery system for treatment of inflammatory diseases
and cancer” is granted.

SNN (a collaboration of the three Northern Netherlands Provinces) decided
to grant a network project on drug delivery. In this project, Vivomicx
( http://www.vivomicx.nl/ ) collaborates with Synvolux for proof-of-concept
regarding targeted siRNA delivery and gene knock out in vivo. The grant
is part of the European Union action line to stimulate European regional
development (EFRO).

been granted three patents from the European Patent Office broadening its technology platform.

The European patents cover:
 - The protection of biological active compounds (EP1805307).

 - The delivery of DNA modifying enzymes into the nucleus of
   cells, in such a away that the enzymes are still metabolic active (EP1805306).

 - The introduction of a new platform technology based on the
   linker technology enabling enhanced targeted delivery (EP1805305).
